Detox with Jesus believes that true recovery happens when families heal together. Just as addiction affects everyone, restoration must include everyone. Through prayer, community, and the love of Christ, we walk with individuals and families from brokenness to wholeness — where love restores and freedom begins.

If you feel stirred to be part of the “helping hands” that lighten the load for struggling families, you’ll discover more in the section called Many Hands Make Light Work.

At its core, Detox with Jesus is not a program but a journey with Christ. Addiction is not the problem but a symptom of deeper wounds, and the addict is not the enemy. The true enemy is the darkness that feeds on family pain and unresolved trauma.
Our mission is to point hurting people to the unconditional love of the Father, the healing way of Jesus, and the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. But healing is not only spiritual — it is also practical. Families need support in their everyday struggles. That is why Detox with Jesus rests on two pillars:
The Heart: Detox with Jesus — a gentle cleanse of soul and spirit, restoring families through faith, forgiveness, and love.
The Hands: Many Hands Make Light Work — practical help from the community, where volunteers and neighbors come alongside families with encouragement, meals, childcare, advocacy, and presence.

The phrase "I will come in and sup with you" is a direct quote from the Bible, specifically Revelation 3:20. It is a promise from Jesus that if a person opens the "door" to their heart, he will come in and share an intimate meal and fellowship with them. The word "sup" signifies more than just eating; it represents a deep and friendly connection.

Addiction is rarely a solitary struggle. Just as the alcoholic may be addicted to the bottle, the codependent becomes addicted to trying to fix the alcoholic. And there lies the painful truth: one addiction fuels the other, and entire families become caught in the cycle.
When our needs were not met, we learned to manage, control, or rescue others in order to feel safe or valued.

Spouses, children, parents, siblings, extended family, friends, coworkers, schools, and even churches are drawn into the cycle of brokenness. When only one person finds freedom, relapse is highly likely. But when family, friends, and loved ones participate in the journey of healing, hope is multiplied, love is restored, and entire households experience transformation.

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It begins the moment one heart dares to be seen by another — when shame gives way to honesty, and love becomes stronger than fear. That’s what Detox with Jesus is all about. It’s not just recovery from addiction — it’s the restoration of relationships. It’s families learning to listen again. Every story opens a door for someone else’s healing. That’s why we believe recovery happens best together.

The systems we rely on - courts, police, schools, even churches - are weary and stretched thin. They do their part, but it isn’t enough. That’s why community must rise. Behind every addict is a weary mother, a broken child, a hurting spouse, a tired police officer, an exhausted lawyer, and a neighbor who wonders if things will ever change. The answer is: YES, but it will take many hands.
So many who have survived addictions or painful relationships have been told they have nothing to offer. But that is not how God sees you — and it’s not how we see you. Here, your scars become strength. Your story becomes hope. Your healing becomes a gift for someone who is still struggling to breathe.
If God is whispering, “It’s your turn now,” we will walk with you every step of the way. You will be mentored, covered, supported, and never left carrying the weight alone. Your privacy will be protected. Your dignity will be honoured.
All He needs is your yes.
All we ask is that you pray, listen, and follow His leading.
If your heart says "I would really like to help people who are submitting their stories to the website; or if you feel you have a strength in helping others to learn how to establish a Detox with Jesus meeting in their area; or if you want to coordinate a 24/7 virtual house of prayer that never sleeps by managing the worldwide prayer calendar ... then this is how God is letting you know that he wants you to be involved.
Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart”.
This verse is often interpreted to mean that when you find your satisfaction in God and follow His will, He will bless you with what is best for you. My walk with God has taught me that by delighting in the Lord, my desires begin to align with His will.
So if you have asked God and you feel a desire in your heart to be involved - if you really want to help with one aspect of Detox with Jesus - then it is my belief that he is speaking to you through your heart and it's safe for you to say "yes" to our invitation to join our ministry, leadership team.
