In Matthew 25, Jesus says the final measure will not be church attendance or rituals, but love in action: feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, welcoming the stranger, visiting the sick and imprisoned because “When you did it for the least of these, you did it for Me.”
Today, our communities are facing another kind of emergency - not one caused by floodwaters, but by a rising tide of homelessness, poverty, addiction, and despair. Despite tireless efforts by local agencies, professionals, and volunteers, the situation continues to worsen. Many are losing hope, believing there’s nothing we can do to stop the downward spiral. But there is something we can do about it.
Every community can do something. You don’t need a perfect building or a large budget - only willing hearts, open hands, and faith that God can use what’s available to rebuild hope from the ground up. Scripture Focus: Nehemiah 3 – “Each repaired the section of the wall in front of his own house.”
