Our gathering is centered on Jesus Christ. We seek to honor Him in our words, our writing, and the way we treat one another. No single person has all the answers. We come together to learn from God, from Scripture, and from the experiences of one another.
Each person’s journey with God is unique. We listen with respect and honor the courage it takes to share personal stories. When we respond to someone’s writing, our goal is to encourage and strengthen - not tear down. Constructive suggestions are welcome, but they should always be given with kindness.
Personal stories shared within the group should be treated with confidentiality and respect. Everyone deserves the opportunity to speak and share. We will be mindful not to dominate the conversation so others can participate.
Writing, publishing, and sharing our message can raise many questions. If answers are not immediately available, we will research them and continue learning together. Whether someone writes a single paragraph or publishes a book, we celebrate every step forward.
Writing involves many practical skills such as editing, publishing, marketing, and promotion. Together we will explore tools and resources that help writers share their work effectively. Whether someone is just beginning or has already published books, everyone is welcome. If God is calling you to write, there is a place for you in this community.
When God calls someone to write, it is often because someone else needs to hear the story. • Habakkuk 2:2 — Write the vision and make it plain • Psalm 45:1 — My tongue is the pen of a ready writer • Revelation 12:11 And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony ...
• Psalm 107:2 — Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story • Jeremiah 30:20 Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you
For many years I believed my experiences were something to hide. Like many people, I carried shame, confusion, and unanswered questions. I assumed that if others truly knew my struggles, they might judge me or misunderstand me.
But something remarkable began to happen when I started writing honestly about my life. Writing became a conversation with God. Through journaling and reflection, I began to see my life differently. Painful memories that once felt meaningless began to reveal deeper lessons about love, identity, grace, and healing.
Over time I realized something important: Our stories are not just for us. They can become a source of hope for others. When people hear how God met us in our struggles, they often begin to recognize that He may be working in their lives as well.
That realization inspired the creation of: Let's Write Your Testimony, Called to Write, the need for the anthology, Stories of Hope. Also, sharing our stories is a big part of Detox with Jesus. Last but not least, The Writer's Market is a place to market these stories.
